Welcome to Cosmecik! This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our app. Our goal is to be transparent and provide you with a powerful tool while respecting your privacy.

Information We Process

To provide our service, we process two main types of information:

1. Cosmetic Image Data

When you scan a cosmetic product, the app captures an image of the ingredient list. Here is exactly what happens with that image:

• The image is securely sent from your device to our server, and then immediately forwarded to Google's Generative AI service for analysis.
• The sole purpose of this transmission is to analyze the image and extract the ingredient information you requested.
• Crucially, the image is deleted from our servers and Google's systems immediately after the analysis is complete (typically within a few seconds). We do not store or retain your images.

2. Anonymous Analytics and Crash Data

To improve app stability and understand how our features are used, we utilize Google's Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics services. This data is essential for helping us fix bugs and make Cosmecik better for everyone. These services automatically collect anonymous information, such as:

• Generic device information (e.g., operating system, device model).
• Anonymous usage statistics (e.g., which features are used most often).
• Crash reports, including stack traces.

This data is associated with a random, anonymous identifier and is not linked to you personally. The information is retained by Google for a period necessary to provide these services and allow us to analyze trends. Advertisements

The Cosmecik app does **not** contain any third-party advertisements.

Data Storage and Your Control

On Your Device ("Your Digital Shelf")

To provide you with the "Digital Shelf" feature, your scan history, product lists, and any custom labels you create are stored **locally on your device only**. This information is not sent to our servers. You have full control over this data and can delete items from your collection at any time from within the app.

Analytics Data Retention

Anonymous analytics data associated with your device's identifier is retained by Firebase for 60 days. Aggregated, non-identifiable reports are retained without expiration. Crash reports are retained for 180 days to help us track and resolve issues.

Your Privacy Choices

You can opt-out of all future data collection from Cosmecik by uninstalling the app from your device. As we do not collect personally identifiable information like your name or email, there is no personal account to delete.

Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for or directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with information, we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. We advise you to review this page periodically for any changes.
